With the expected winter weather, Avoca has officially declared a Snow Emergency beginning now until Sunday evening at 8 PM. Thank you for your understanding and helping crews efficiently and safely remove snow from our streets.

No person shall park, abandon, or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or City-owned off-street parking area. Upon the declaration of a snow emergency parking shall be prohibited as follows:

• East-West Streets. Parking shall be prohibited on the north side of all east west streets for the first 24 hours of a declared emergency. Once snow has been fully removed from the north side of the street parking shall be prohibited on the south side of the street for a period of 24 hours.

• North-South Streets. Parking shall be prohibited on the east side of all north-south streets for the first 24 hours of a declared emergency. Once snow has been fully removed from the east side of the street parking shall be prohibited on the west side of the street for a period of 24 hours.

• City-Owned Off-Street Parking. Parking shall be prohibited from all City owned off-street parking areas until such time as the snow or ice has been removed.

• Alleys. Parking in alleys shall be prohibited for the duration of the declared snow emergency
